On November 26, 2015, the founding ceremony of the Marine Law Study Matrix of China Law Society and 1st symposium was held in Beijing.  This society is a research entity established with approval of China Law Society, and is the first of its kind in the society. It comprises 8 members, including China University of Political Science and Law, Wuhan University, Xiamen University, Zhejiang University, Ocean University of China, Dalian Maritime University, University of Hainan and Shanghai Ocean University.  It aims to promote in-depth cooperation between the society and law schools, carry out coordinated innovative research of marine law, and develop it into a new national think tank for the rule of law.
